Rochelle + John are an adventurous couple who are avid road bikers, logging over 2500 miles each this year, and they also love hiking, running and snuggling.
They met back in the summer of 2015 via Match.com and decided to met up. That coffee date turned into 4 hours of walking, which turned into long biking trips, runs and playing, which turned into a long conversation about marriage and deciding that elopement was exactly what they wanted. And that’s when they contacted me.
Three weeks later, they flew in from Arkansas, and we all stood on top of Flagstaff mountain. Overlooking the continental divide, they exchanged their vows in the presence of the birds and a few deer, then we headed to Lost Gulch Overlook for a few more photos before heading our separate ways.
This. This was a HUGE turning point for me and my business. Realizing that what I truly wanted was to be an elopement photographer, and so I need to say a sincere THANK YOU to Rochelle and John for that. And give everyone else a heads up that big changes are coming to Rayna McGinnis Photography.
I loved everything about their Flagstaff Mountain Elopement. I loved that Rochelle did her own hair, beautifully by the way, just the way John likes it. I loved that John put together a bouquet in the parking lot, consisting of beautiful flowers they picked up at Trader Joes. I loved that Rochelle wore tennis shoes under her dress so she could move around and be comfortable, and that they brought along a cutting board with their wedding date, that a close friend had made for them.
It was intimate, it was emotional, it was raw. It was EVERYTHING a wedding should be.
