Meet Rayna McGinnis – The Colorado Wedding Photographer for Active Couples.
Describe yourself in three words:
Active. Adventurous. Introverted.
If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be:
If I could switch places with any animal, I would be my dog. She’s spoiled, gets a ton of love and gets to play all day. But… if I just turned into an animal, I would be a large cat like a panther or a tiger. Mostly because I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have a tail and I want to know what it feels like to purr.
What do you like to do in your free time:
I travel and climb a lot. Mostly with my awesome husband, Christian. I LOVE road trips, especially if I can bring Savannah dog. I also hike a lot, love to do yoga, foster and rescue animals, explore the mountains and I take a lot of photos for personal use. I love new experiences like trying new food, wines I haven’t had before and just going places I haven’t been. And I love the mountains and the desert. I could spend hours just sitting and reading, while listening to the wind and wildlife around me.
Why is a tennis ball fuzzy:
Because it allows dogs to strip the outside of the ball to get to the inside. It’s kind of like a dog tootsie pop.
If you won the lottery, what would you do:
This one is easy, Christian and I talk about this all the time. I’d first pay off our house and buy a reliable around town car. Then I’d buy a small RV and have it renovated to fit four cats and a dog, with back up heating and a/c, and double doors so they can’t escape. Then I’d travel all around the US, staying at climbing destinations and national parks. I’d go on a new adventure every single day. So essentially what I do now, but on steroids. I’d also travel overseas a lot, and would want to spend extended time in South America, Africa and Europe but not Asia because they have those giant hornets over there and those things freak me out. That would also have to wait until we’re animal free, as I wouldn’t want to leave my babies for months at a time. I’d also have a ton of unnecessary photography and climbing equipment.
What is your favorite drink:
Um. Dry red wine. I love malbecs and nero d’avolas and grenaches. Delicious.
What do you want to be when you grow up:
Healthy, happy and free. I want to be a nomad, travel the world and live like the locals. I want to explore and to be constantly planning the next adventure while living the current one.
What’s your favorite part about being a Colorado Wedding Photographer:
Colorado is an amazing state with amazing people. I truly have the best couples and I love getting to know them and their lives. They are active and adventurous themselves and they value experiences, drink way too much alcohol and live for the outdoors. I love being there on their wedding day, watching their day unfold and capturing them in their element.
