Lauren and Joe were “love at first site”. They both knew immediately that they had met their soul mate.
As one of Lauren’s classmates, I could tell she had fallen in love too. She had that glow, the smile that lets everyone know you’re bursting inside, but in a good way.
Lauren and Joe met through their church in December of 2012. One of the preachers at another church played match-maker with the two of them and got it right.
In late Spring, Joe and Lauren took a walk and Joe popped the question. They were sitting under a gazebo in the rain and it just seemed like the right time. Lauren later found out that Joe had even asked her dad for permission a few days before!
Their wedding day was a beautiful Autumn day in Colorado. It was just the right temperature and the clouds were lovely. The trees were just gently * kissed * by the cold, starting to turn ever so slightly. I love days like that. They picked the Chapel at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado for the ceremony and the Holiday Inn in Littleton for their reception. The Chapel at Red Rocks is very beautiful inside, but the landscape behind it is breath taking.
Lauren’s favorite moments are walking down the aisle and declaring her love for Joe. She also loved signing the license, their chapel exit where guests blew bubbles at them (who doesn’t love bubbles?) and all of the hugs from friends and family. While Joe and Lauren had a small wedding, they were completely surrounded by loving friends and family. It was obvious that everyone was thrilled for these two! They also had an awesome wedding party!!
For their honey-moon, Joe took Lauren on a Northeast adventure to show her where he came from. They explored Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Boston was her favorite spot because she’s a sports geek (go figure, exercise physiology major – we’re all like that) and loved the history of the city. She also loved seeing the brilliant foliage and the Atlantic Ocean.
Lauren and Joe, thank you for including me in your wonderful day! I truly enjoyed spending it with you!
Okay, more pictures!!
Rayna McGinnis specializes in intimate wedding photography for active couples at venues like the Chapel at Red Rocks in Morrison Colorado.
From Lauren about her vendors:
“The Chapel at Red Rocks was such a wonderful wedding venue. Kathy and Patty were great to work with and really made the entire process a pleasure rather than a stressor. And the beautiful Red Rocks scenery is hard to beat! Kathy DiFulvio, one of the wedding coordinators at the Chapel, did the floral arrangements and did an excellent job! She did everything that I had requested and exceeded my expectations! David’s Bridal is where I got my dress, veil, and shoes, and two of the three bridesmaids dresses- I highly recommend them, especially the Aurora store. The ladies there were easy to work with and helped make things go very smoothly. I also recommend Hobby Lobby as a place to get wedding reception/ceremony accessories as they have a huge variety at reasonable prices! They had a 50% off sale during the time I had shopped for things and it was a great deal! Finally, I highly recommend Rayna McGinnis Wedding Photography! Rayna was really great to work with and made picture taking fun and easy. The quality of her work is top notch and I’m glad I was able to have her for both engagement and wedding photos!”
