Boulder Elopement Photographer | Taylor + Ryan

I’ve traveled a lot and one thing I can tell you is that no matter where you go, the locals will tell you that the weather is crazy. But having traveled a lot, I can honestly tell you that I’ve never visited anywhere that has crazier weather than the front range. I hear all the time, “we’ll get 60 degree weather and snow in the same week”. Yea, that’s a little bit crazy, but I’ve seen 70 and sunny turn into a blizzard in just a few hours. Have you ever been hailed and rained on when there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, because that happens here. And it’s awesome.

I always tell my out of state couples that they should be prepared for anything and embrace what they’re given. Even if you’re planning a late May elopement in Boulder, Colorado. Because even if it’s pushing 85 the entire week before, you very well may get a blizzard. Just ask Taylor and Ryan.

Just two days before their wedding I was planting my garden, convinced that winter had passed but mother nature had another plan and she won out. It snowed so hard, we couldn’t even make it to the top of Flagstaff Mountain like we had originally planned. Instead we found a secluded field of snow a short distance off the road. It was the perfect location.
